Milestones

The first day of school; a milestone when you are beginning your senior year in high school and this year my daughter's got her car and her license! When I think about the term "milestones", I wonder where that came from? I picture small stones set along the road at one mile intervals, marking the progress of the journey. Yep, this year is a milestone.

What's the story behind the phrase "milestone?" Does anyone know?

That's a Huge milestone!
God knows they've been flyin' by me in the last couple of months!
Websters says this:
Mile-stone 1. A stone or pillar set up to show the distance in miles to or from a specific place.
2. A significant or important event in history, in the career of a person, ect.
Buckle up sister!! it's a wild ride!

Oh, congrats to the both of you. That is big.

Here is the wikipedia entry:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milestone.

It has some interesting information in it... I'm kinda a wikipedia addict, I'm constantly looking stuff up on it.

Anyhow, welcome to the world of blogging. You're off to a great start. And thank you so much for the link! I'm honored. :D
