Santa Margherita Legure. Our hotel is on the top of the hill as we head out for Portofino. Our hotel spot was pretty perfect. Beautiful grounds. Lunch by the water.  Sigh . . .   We enjoyed the fun boat ride. Such a beautiful(busy!)little town. I wonder if Michael Douglas and Catherine  knew we were there at the same time! Ha!

Florence. I miss this. Our view outside the hotel. The cutest room!  We had a porch and on the upper level there was dining and bar area.

St. Peter's Basilica Vatican City, Italy Natural sky lighting.   Just one of the many beautiful marble floor inlays.   I loved these columns!   Beautiful interior window grating  overlooking the inner courtyard.

Florence. You can take so many pictures  of this beautiful city. This is the Arno River. Ponte Vecchio is in the middle of the picture.  It is the oldest of six bridges and today holds small jewelry shops.

Positano Mr. C's favorite place in the world. We weren't expecting to come here. We were at this hotel about 22 years ago. It was so nice to be back. Beautiful. And the view is nice too.

It works!   The tradition is that you throw a coin into the Fontana di Trevi and you will return. I threw in a coin in 1996.

Italy, 2011

I'm so excited to be visiting Italy. I would love to visit the Cinque Terre villages.   This is Vernazza, said to be the most picturesque  of the five villages. I would love to know of your favorite places to see in central Italy.
